Week 6 EOTO COM TECH TIMELINE

My specific topic from this class project was the history of the first ever radio with antenna. Scottish physicist james clerk maxwell  first predicted the existence of radio waves in the 1860’s. German physicist Heinrich Rudolph Hertz in 1886 showed that rapid variations of electric currents could be projected in the form of radio waves.
In 1866. Mahlon Loomis successfully demonstrated wireless telegraphy by connection simply by making a meter connected to a kite - a meter connected to another causing it to move. His demonstration was the first known instance of wireless aerial communication. In 1895 Italian Guglielmo Marconi sent and received the first radio signal, then in 1899 sent the first one across the English Channel, and in 1901 the first across the Atlantic Ocean Scottish physicist james clerk maxwell first predicted the existence of radio waves in the 1860’s German physicist Heinrich Rudolph Hertz in 1886 showed that rapid variations of electric currents could be projected in the form of radio waves.
